Pierrick Bourgeat obtained his PhD in computer science from the University of Burgundy in France in 2004, in the field of image analysis. As part of his PhD research, he spent 2 years in the Image Science and Machine Vision group at the Oak Ridge National Lab, developing new techniques for defect detection on semiconductors using direct-to-digital holography. In 2004, he joined the BioMedIA Lab at the CSIRO ICT Centre to work on Magnetic Resonance Images segmentation and analysis. His main interests are in texture analysis, classification, segmentation, molecular imaging and integration of the MR physics within the medical image analysis framework.
